We’re looking for a Development Officer, Partnerships to join our dynamic and collaborative team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with some of Canada’s leading corporations and organizations to develop meaningful partnerships that support Indspire’s transformative programs, events, and student funding initiatives.
 
You’ll be part of a passionate team that builds and maintains partnerships with corporate Canada to support Indigenous learners creating powerful opportunities for giving, brand recognition and sponsorship activations. Whether Indigenous or non-Indigenous, we invite candidates who are committed to reconciliation, education, and allyship, and who are excited about using their fundraising expertise to create meaningful change.
 
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll be:
 
  • Building and growing meaningful relationships with a diverse portfolio of corporate sponsors and donors, inspiring them to invest in Indigenous education and student success.
  • Executing annual fundraising plans to secure and expand corporate partnerships that power Indspire’s transformative programs, high-profile national events, and student funding initiatives.
  • Identifying and engaging new corporate prospects while stewarding existing sponsors to achieve and exceed ambitious revenue goals.
  • Crafting persuasive sponsorship proposals, cases for support, and pitching materials that highlight the impact and visibility of supporting Indspire.
  • Creating innovative sponsorship packages and resources to drive program growth and maximize corporate partner engagement.
  • Collaborating across teams to deeply understand Indspire’s programs and bring them to life for corporate audiences in compelling ways.
  • Generating and ensuring the execution of sponsorship and gift agreements with supporters.
  • Tracking supporter interactions, agreements, and reporting requirements in Indspire’s database, ensuring information is captured accurately to inform next steps and drive effective fundraising strategies.
  • Providing excellent stewardship by ensuring timely correspondence, reporting, and engagement opportunities for sponsors and donors.
  • Attending Indspire events and other networking opportunities to build and strengthen relationships with corporate sponsors and identify new prospects.
  • Identifying and offering corporate partners meaningful employee engagement opportunities that combine giving and learning, supporting their teams in connecting with Indspire’s programs and advancing their reconciliation journey.
 
Qualifications
 
  • Completion of a college diploma or university degree.
  • Minimum two years of success in fundraising, sponsorships or corporate partnerships.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build authentic relationships and present compelling cases for support based on donor and organizational needs.
  • Excellent customer service and administrative skills, ensuring professional and efficient support to sponsors and internal teams.
  • Strong writing, proposal development, and relationship management skills.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous communities and cultures is an asset; openness to learning and cultural humility is essential.
  • Strategic thinker and self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
  • Experience using CRM software (Raiser’s Edge preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
  • Ability to travel within Canada and work occasional evenings or weekends, as required.
